- A manual of my very own progression of Montessori-like activities for teaching division by a two-or-three-digit divisor. I created these because in my opinion the Montessori racks and tubes division activities are not well designed to lead children to abstract division because the steps used to perform division with the racks and tubes are different to the steps used to perform division abstractly. My eight presentations, using the golden beads or stamp game along with coloured pencils in Montessori hierarchical colours, demonstrate division by a two-or-three-digit divisor following the steps used when performing division abstractly. Please note, I have so far only presented these activities to one child. He enjoyed the activities; the progression seemed to work very well. Presentation of the activities to different children may indicate futher editing. Please contact me if you have any suggestions.
